What to Expect at Your First InBody Test

How to prepare for body composition and grip-strength testing at Saddlebrooke Strength.

A bathroom scale gives you total weight. An InBody test provides estimates of the components behind that number, including skeletal muscle, body fat, and body water. At Saddlebrooke Strength, the $25 appointment includes an InBody 380 test and an InGrip hand-strength measurement.

What happens at the appointment?

Plan for a five-minute appointment. You remove your shoes and socks, stand on the analyzer, and hold its handles while the measurement is taken. The grip test adds a strength baseline you can compare at future visits. Tell Abel beforehand about any hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder pain that could affect gripping.

Prepare for a useful comparison

Results are easier to compare when your testing conditions are similar. Follow the preparation instructions on our InBody testing page before your visit.

Read the results as a baseline

Look at muscle, body fat, and body water together rather than focusing on a single score. Hydration and testing conditions can affect the estimates. A change on one visit does not necessarily mean a lasting change in muscle or fat. Consistent preparation and trends across visits give you a more useful picture.

Check suitability before booking

Do not take the test if you have a pacemaker or another implanted or essential electronic medical device. Testing is not recommended during pregnancy. If you are unsure whether testing is appropriate for you, ask your healthcare professional before booking. The test supports fitness tracking and is not a medical diagnosis.
